A broad coalition of conservative and non-partisan organizations representing millions of Americans is urging Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Charles Grassley to approve the confirmation of Ed Martin as United States Attorney for the District of Columbia.
In a letter delivered to Senator Grassley and signed by more than 30 groups, activists and thought leaders, the coalition emphasized Martin's commitment to constitutional principles and his qualifications to restore balance within the federal justice system.
Organized by Constitutional Rights PAC Chairman Larry Ward, the coalition highlighted Martin's extensive legal experience and dedication to curbing what they describe as "administrative state overreach." The letter argues that Martin's appointment is "of critical importance to the future of our nation's justice system."
Representatives of Constitutional Rights PAC have been in contact with the Judiciary Committee to let them know of the coming letter and depth of support for Ed Martin.
"Ed Martin stands as a beacon of principled integrity and unwavering commitment to the Constitution," the coalition wrote. "His record demonstrates his expertise in navigating complex legal challenges while remaining dedicated to ensuring that governmental power is exercised within its proper bounds."
The letter specifically points in supporting Martin's confirmation:
His role as "a critical voice for the rule of law" with the legal acumen to ensure accountability within federal institutions
His potential contribution to the "restoration of judicial integrity" in the current political climate
The coalition's readiness to mobilize "extensive networks and resources" in support of his confirmation
"We are convinced that Ed Martin's leadership as United States Attorney will serve as a catalyst for positive change, fostering an environment where the law is applied fairly and government actions remain fully accountable to the Constitution," the group continues.
The coalition has expressed its readiness to provide further support to advance Martin's confirmation. Additional information about Martin's qualifications and record is available at www.EdMartin.org.
